About Us
Pandora, a proud Métis woman and mother of six, lives with her husband Matthew on the unceded territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation in Linwood, Ontario. Raised in Ontario's Georgian Bay area, she maintains deep ties to her Indigenous community both at home and in the Region of Waterloo.
In 2012, Pandora participated in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission during the Meeting Place Conference in Toronto, hosted by Council Fire. As an Honorary Youth Witness through Canadian Roots Exchange's Youth Conference, she witnessed firsthand the profound impact of the Residential School System on First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Turtle Island, igniting her journey toward Reconciliation.
Since 2012, Pandora has held various roles within the Indigenous community in the Region of Waterloo and is currently on maternity leave from NPAAMB Indigenous Youth Employment and Training. Additionally, she serves as the Interim Women's Representative for Region 9 with the Métis Nation of Ontario.
In 2019, Pandora pursued further education in Early Childhood Education at FNTI in Tyendinaga. During this time, she became acutely aware of the lack of resources available for Indigenous families that reflected their language, culture, and teachings. Inspired by a class project where she created a learning resource reflecting her specific culture and language, Pandora conceived the idea to establish her own venture.
Within a year, she launched Mulberry Design and Engravings, starting with puzzles and matching games crafted with her newly purchased laser engraving machine. Through this initiative, Pandora aims to fill a critical gap by providing culturally relevant educational resources for Indigenous families and classrooms.
Currently Pandora is continuing to grow and expand Mulberry by competing in this year's Pow Wow Pitch as a semi-finalist in the Knowledge Services category!
